Clare is an accredited coach with ILM which adds to her skills as a coach and provides assurance for people who are selecting a coach, to know that their coach is experienced and trustworthy. Produced using Clare’s knowledge, training and experience, we developed and sent out coaching cards in our monthly newsletters using different models and techniques that we use with coaching clients. These have had great feedback for many aspects of working life.
The aim of these exercises prompted in the coaching cards is to help reflect on your current occupational situation and recognise any room for change or development. These coaching activities can begin to guide you through any desired developments.
This is something new we tried last year, and we hope they have provided useful insights. If you have not come across our coaching cards yet, below we will leave a short description of the ones we have shared thus far.
1. Work Values – here we encourage you to reflect on the most important values to have in your career and prioritise these.
2. Stars and Clouds – here we shared a resource and provided an idea where you can individually, or in teams, identify strengths and weaknesses and make room for recognising and celebrating successes and also identifying and aiming to overcome any challenges you may be facing.
3. Wheel of Life – here we asked you to consider how each part of your life affects the others and how important balance is in each of these areas for a smooth ride.
4. WOOP Coaching Model – this is about turning wishful thinking into reality and breaking through any limited beliefs we may have.
5. Time Management – here we used a model to encourage you to implement time management strategies into your everyday working life to overcome issues.
6. Start, Stop, Continue – this exercise focuses on analysis and productivity and help you identify how certain behaviours impact your working life.
7. Developing your Career Network – here we apply a career management theory to leadership and networking and show the benefits of improving social capital.
8. Finding Mentors, Coaches and Sponsors – focuses on finding support for your career and seeking out the right people to guide you in professional development. This task allows time for reflection and to explore who you would reach out to in your network and who could fulfil these roles.
