Clare was recently interviewed on redundancy to contribute to an article in Boots Health & Beauty Magazine.
The article focuses on understanding your feelings that come with experiencing redundancy. Some key points from the article are that ‘you haven’t been made redundant, your job has,’ and to recognise the ‘normal’ emotional reactions to redundancy to know that you are not alone in feeling what you do. Clare mentions an emotional cycle often felt by those who have experienced redundancy, the Kübler-Ross model of grief, as well as overcoming an identity crisis.
If anyone is going through this at the moment, take a read of the full article.
We hope it can bring you some peace and acceptance that any feelings you are experiencing are normal and offer some advice on how to accept your emotions and ‘get back on the bandwagon’.
The article offers free advice for redundancy and it was also contributed to by Carly Attridge (founder of The Loss Project), Rosie Weatherley (information content manager for Mind), psychotherapist Simon Coombs (and founder of Working Minds) and Jessica Powell (author).
